When you don't have to rely on anyone else except yourself is when you can declare independence.But independence also means being able to go out and do things on your own without other's consent, and being able to do that is a wonderful thing, it means looking like a fool and not caring what others think. Living your life to its fullest.
I've earned my independence from my parents, I do need to rely on them, but, I don't like to.
I've earned my independence from my friends, I act ridiculous when I'm with them, they feel embarassed, but will still remain my friends.
I've earned my independence from my community, helping others out through Key Club.
